I've written a lot of plays. It's the style of writing I've done the most over these past few years (barring LARP writing) and I think I've improved a lot over the years. Most of these are comedies, but they almost always include some weird horror elements. That's the thing I've gravitated towards a lot, and I think the combination of the two allows for the exploration of interesting themes and ideas in an abstract way. I've excluded most of the sketches I wrote (there are far too many to list, and while I think they're very good they're all up on youtube somewhere so there's no need to list them here.)
Ladylike I think this is probably the best play I've written. I'm actually really really proud of this one. I really like comedies with horror elements, but I leaned really hard into the horror on this one. It's an hour/hour thirty long radio play. It's almost entirely a monologue, but I think I did a good job of keeping the listener's attention. Fun fact, some of the dreams the protagonist has are adapted from dreams I had. Some are entirely made up. Can you guess which is which?
A Play That Is Unfortunately Not Titled "Baby Arms Nipple Man" : A 15 minute comedy written in about three hours starting at midnight. It shows.
Slash Fiction A full length drama/comedy about a pair of queer serial killers who are roommates. I started writing this February of 2020. It started off as a comedy but became more and more serious throughout (I wonder what event at the time could have caused such a shift). I do think that this is one of the best things I've written. Outside of the ending, it's a mostly solid drama. The characters are likable enough and there are some fun moments. It's not great, but it's solid and finished, so I'm pretty proud of that.
Harbinger(2022) This one's a TV pilot, though written like a play script because I'm lazy. It's a revisiting of Harbinger(2019) which was my first ever full-length play was not very good. I think this new one is pretty funny and has some potential drama to it if I ever write the other episodes.
Skeletons In The Closet It's a short 10 minute radio comedy about moving on from a relationship. It's cute, it has some goofs and gaffs but I think it's ultimately forgettable
Writer Wrong A one act comedy I wrote after Harbinger(2019). It's about someone who's assigned to be a serial killer as their Future Mandated Job. It's fine. I think I tried foraying into more serious things with this play and I don't think it worked. It's pretty funny at times though.
Harbinger(2019) My first full length play. It's really, really bad. The idea was good enough for me to update. The only reason I'm even putting this here is for posterity. It's not good.
