I really like Worm. As much as I love superhero comics, they’re stagnant in a lot of ways. Characters can never change too drastically, and despite the presence of these godlike beings, their world looks remarkably similar to our own. Worm was the first time that wasn’t true in my reading. It’s a story about change. About how superheroes and villains change the fabric of society and the nature of the world. It’s a story that takes into account evolution and growth. Combine that with weird powers and characters who utilize them in creative ways and you have something that I will love until the ends of the Earth, despite its flaws.
